BEHIND THE SCENES

BTS STORY: Valentino Toile Iconographe

VALENTINO'S LATEST CAMPAIGN IS A VIBRANT CELEBRATION OF ITS NEW LOGO

The new Valentino Toile Iconographe campaign highlights its new logo motif. The Maison's logo-centric print finds its way onto every surface in an all-new campaign envisioned by Pierpaolo Piccioli. The campaign features models Kristen McMenamy, Sora Choi, Alaato Jazyper, and Cas Van Uytvanck, photographed by Steven Meisel. Joe McKenna styled, and Pat McGrath, Guido Palau and Jin Soon Choi were responsible for the vibrant makeup, hair and nails.

Pierpaolo Piccioli continues to explore new heights for the Maison with this logomania universe. Doubling down on his maximally minimalistic approach, the evocative VLogo is seen across the pret-à-porter range, quintessential accessories and the faces of the models.

Meisel’s artistic stills offer an awe-inspiring graphic impact, expanding Valentino’s aesthetic imaginaries and revealing the consistency of the Italian fashion house to the present day. Across strongly-contrasted garments, bucket hats, silk scarves, belts, shorts, shopping bags and boots, the characteristic VLogo is accentuated in black, red and signature pink hues.

Kristen McMenamy

Kristen is an industry icon. I witnessed how amazing the process of makeup on Kristen was and had a jaw dropping moment watching the hand drawing of the iconic logo on Kristen McMenamy's face by the Pat McGrath team. Pierpaolo Piccioli wanted black, short nails so team JINsoon used JINsoon Absolute Black on her natural nails. Love black polish on short nails!

Cas Van Uytvanck poses with Valentino La Troisième Toile Iconographe shopping bag:

Cas Van Uytvanck

I had a great time with Cas who was so nice and adorable! It was his very first manicure, first campaign and first time in New York City - how cute is that! We used JINsoon Absolute Black on his nails. Black nails have been a big part of high fashion but it's even hotter than ever!

Alaato Jazyper strikes a pose in Valentino Toile Iconographe collection campaign:

Her makeup is natural and highlighted with dark lip color so the creative director went natural with her nails. We used a coat of JINsoon Dew.

So glad to see matching eye makeup and nails on Sora! I was so excited using a pop blue color because it's pretty unusual for a luxury brand to use pastel blue on nails. JINsoon Aero looked so good and really fit in as part of the overall ensemble.

The #ValentinoToilelconographe works as an act of beauty, freedom and creativity in the Maison's latest campaign. I was grateful to be a part of this iconic campaign and loved the result of the campaign looks.
