Mother's Day Nail Designs

Celebrating Mother’s Day with Mother's Day Nail Designs  

To celebrate Mother's Day and my mother's 97th birthday this month, I'd like to honor her by showing you nail designs based on my “Mamagami Collection” inspired by my mama's origami art creations; hence the name “Mamagami.” 

My mother created origami art pieces for the launch of the collection, employing fun, colorful forms that served as the template for the nail polish collection.  I hope you'll enjoy these new simple nail designs for mothers and daughters as much as I did collaborate with my mother on this project. 

My mother learned how to make origami art when she was in her 80s at her local senior citizen center and the designs she created were varied, modular, intricate forms with vivid colors that were wildly artistic yet nuanced. She cut the paper pieces with scissors which resulted in inexact sizes, and because of this, most of the shapes look irregular and are an interesting take on traditional origami – the imperfections make her art special.  

FUN-FETTI

  1. Dab Dotty or Fab on any nail you want.

Smile French  

French twist nail art is a fun and creative way to add some flair to your manicure. This Fashion French is stylish, fun-to-do, and quite elegant.

How to create the look: 
  1. Apply JINsoon Power Coat base coat. 
  1. Apply a coat of JINsoon Muse. 
  1. Using a striping brush or nail polish brush, paint a slightly curved line at the end of 1/3'rd of the nails with JINsoon Pinky. 
  1. Using a striping brush, draw a line right above the French line with Hella. 
  1. Draw the smile line at the bottom of the French line. 
  1. Finish the look by applying JINsoon Top Gloss top coat. 

Split French 

How elegant these feminine, simple French nail designs is! This look will appear different using different colors. Try with your favorite color!

How to create the look: 
  1. Apply JINsoon Power Coat base coat. 
  2. Apply a coat of JINsoon Muse. 
  3. Using a striping brush or nail polish brush, draw a French line starting off center from the left side and from the right side of the nails with JINsoon Pinky leaving a small void in the middle.

  1. Prep your nails by cleaning and shaping as desired. 
  2. Apply a thin coat of JINsoon Power Coat Base coat. 
  3. Apply two coats of JINsoon Muse 
  4. Draw wavy lines with JINsoon Tweety in different sizes and areas on all fingers using a thin nail art brush 
  5. Draw wavy lines right next to Tweety with JINsoon Palma in different sizes and areas using a thin nail art brush

Brush off

  4. Draw a triangle-like shape with Winky on the left side of the index and middle finger nails, and a swooping line on the right side with Beau, by overlapping them for an abstract V.

Abstract Aura 

Hand paint imperfect aura textured nails using sponges to create a work of art. 

Aura #1 - JINsoon Tweety + Pop Orange 

Products: JINsoon High Performance Diamond Nail File, Pixie, Tweety, Pop Orange, Top Gloss, makeup sponge, and CND Coffin Tips 
 
How-To Steps: 
  1. Shape the tip of CND Coffin Tips using a JINsoon High Performance Diamond Nail File 
  2. Apply two coats of JINsoon Pixie to each nail for sheer transparency 
  3. Apply JINsoon Tweety on a small size of makeup sponge, dabbing it anywhere you want in all different positions - the first layer should be super light, the second layer should be a bit darker and smaller and the center dab should be the darkest to exhibit like an ombre circle for an aura look (after you apply a color on sponge, dab it on the paper or foil for the light effect) 
  4. Do the same with Pop Orange in the painted area of Tweety 
  5. Apply JINsoon Top Gloss for a shiny finish - top coat smooths uneven paint and shows more aura. 
 
Tip: It's good to use the makeup sponge because it's dense and can give a better aura look. But if you are looking for more abstract paints like, use the sponge with bigger holes.  


Aura #2 - Keppel + Tweety 

Products: JINsoon High Performance Diamond Nail File, Pixie, Tweety, Keppel, Top Gloss, makeup sponge, and CND Coffin Tips 
 
How-To Steps: 
  1. Shape the tip of CND Coffin Tips using a JINsoon High Performance Diamond Nail File 
  2. Apply two coats of JINsoon Pixie to each nail for sheer transparency 
  3. Apply JINsoon Keppel on a small size makeup sponge, dabbing it anywhere you want in all different positions - the first layer should be super light, the second layer should be a bit darker and smaller, and the center dab should be darkest to exhibit an ombre circle for an aura look (after you apply a color on the sponge, dab it on the paper or foil for the light effect) 
  4.  Do the same with Tweety in the painted area of Aero

Daisy Dream 

Daisy is everyone's go-to nail art, especially for beginners. Apply the nail art with a dotting tool - it's that easy!   
Products: Power Coat, Muse, Absolute White, Tweety and Top Gloss top coat 
 
How to create the look: 
  1. Apply JINsoon Power Coat base coat. 
  2. Apply a coat of JINsoon Muse. 
  3. Using a rounded dotting tool, dot the flower petals using JINsoon Absolute White. 
  4. Add circles in the middle of the flower with JINsoon Tweety. 
  5. Finish the look by applying JINsoon Top Gloss top coat.
